Description

Unless you are using this course with someone else and they have the Helps & Hints you may want to order the set not just the textbook

Science in the Beginning is the first book in a hands-on, multilevel elementary science series that introduces scientific concepts using history as its guide. Because each lesson is built around an activity or experiment, it is engaging for all K-6 students. In addition, there are three levels of review for each lesson, so the parent/teacher can choose the depth at which each student is expected to grasp the material. The course contains roughly 90 hours of instruction, 35 of which are composed of hands-on activities.

The beginning of history is given in the Bible’s creation account, and this book uses the days of creation as a way of introducing a wide range of scientific concepts including the nature of light, energy conservation, the properties of air and water, introductory botany, our solar system, basic zoology, and some aspects of human anatomy and physiology. As the students learn about these scientific concepts, they are constantly reminded of the Creator who fashioned the marvels they are studying.

Testimonials

"My 5th grader and I LOVE the Science in the Beginning, science is now a favorite subject!"

"We are loving Science in the Beginning so much that I just bought the second book even though we are only only At lesson 15. This is the best elementary science curriculum! Every lesson is fun and easy too. We don't even realize we are learning!"

"I have been homeschooling for many years and have been using your [Science in the Beginning] program with two of my younger children, aged 9 and 11. I am writing to let you know how MUCHHHHH we enjoy your materials! My children are learning SOOOOO much!! My husband, an electronics engineer who studied physics -- a once-skeptic of homeschooling -- is very impressed with this science program."

"We are enjoying your brand new elementary science curriculum, Science in the Beginning. Both of our kids (and I) look forward to science every week! I appreciate that common household objects are required for the seemingly simple experiments. The activities are easy enough for my 6-yr-old to understand, yet complex enough for my 10-yr-old to still glean something new and stay interested. I am finding most of the experiments to be quite cleverly set up. I love doing these lessons with the kids so I can watch for the glint of understanding in their eyes when they get it."

"My husband and I purchased your Science in the Beginning book at the 2015 IAHE convention, and we have just started using it this year. I wanted to let you know how much we're enjoying it. The experiments are easy to execute, but leave my kids with an understanding of what we're learning. I have two boys who really appreciate hands-on learning, and they get excited when we pull out the science book (even if they groan every single time I tell them something they experience in daily life is science!). So, thank you. We are having a great time learning about light (and it's always a great day when you get to burn holes in things with a magnifying glass!!) and looking forward to the rest of the book."
