Description
Unless you are using this course with someone else and they have the Helps & Hints you may want to order the set not just the textbook
Science in the Beginning is the first book in a hands-on, multilevel elementary science series that introduces scientific concepts using history as its guide. Because each lesson is built around an activity or experiment, it is engaging for all K-6 students. In addition, there are three levels of review for each lesson, so the parent/teacher can choose the depth at which each student is expected to grasp the material. The course contains roughly 90 hours of instruction, 35 of which are composed of hands-on activities.
The beginning of history is given in the Bible’s creation account, and this book uses the days of creation as a way of introducing a wide range of scientific concepts including the nature of light, energy conservation, the properties of air and water, introductory botany, our solar system, basic zoology, and some aspects of human anatomy and physiology. As the students learn about these scientific concepts, they are constantly reminded of the Creator who fashioned the marvels they are studying.
Testimonials
"I just have to tell you how much my daughter and I have loved Science In The Beginning. My daughter is 9-almost-10 years old and just loves experiments. Yesterday was our final day and she was so sad that she held the book and cried. Thank you for making such an enjoyable, approachable, and adaptable science curriculum. "
"We are LOVING the experiments. Sometimes we have to repeat them because we are so fascinated by the results."
"I absolutely LOVE this curriculum! I am using it to teach at our co-op, and it is wonderful. The easy experiments with every lesson make this curriculum entertaining and interesting to my 3rd-5th grade students. I highly recommend this curriculum for the elementary student."
"This is the third science curriculum we've tried in as many years. This one is a hit. The lessons are not overly long and boring like some can be. The experiments are fun and most are fairly easy to do. My kids look forward to science now and can't wait to see what they're going to learn.
Absolutely the best science curriculum I have found. I love the length of the lessons, the experiment that starts each lesson and the review questions. The explanation is very concise and clear. We are looking forward to the next book in this series!"
"I do truly want you to know how much we love your elementary course. I love the experiment every day – the kids look forward to it, and the amount of reading is very appropriate an manageable. "
