The preliminary manuscript for Discovering Design with Physics (a .pdf version of the required portions of the text will be provided for the student to use prior to the date those portions must be studied) will be used to teach this college prep introduction to physics. The student will learn the methods and concepts of general physics, heavily emphasizing vector analysis, one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion, Newton’s laws and their application, gravity, work and energy, momentum, periodic motion, waves, optics, electrostatics, electrodynamics, electrical circuits, and magnetism.
Student must have completed Algebra I, Geometry, and be familiar with the sine, cosine, and tangent functions of trigonometry.
A syllabus will be provided by the first of September. The syllabus will let the student know what reading and lab work needs to be completed prior to class.
